Types of Abutment

 Types of Abutment

Cemented Restorations

Off the shelf abutment:
All implant systems produce their own range of abutments. These are fine for cement retained options when implant placement is perfect.

Custom Abutments:
These are generally the best choice for cement retained restorations when implant placement is sub-optimal - for instance, if the implant is too angled, deep or the position is poor. Ther eaer a few options for custom abutments:
  • All Titanium/Zirconia CADCAM route (Fixture and abutment all in the same material)
  • Ti-Base with Zirconia CADCAM custom abutment (Titanium interface, Zi abutment)
  • Chrome/Gold conventianal cast route

Screw Retained Restorations

We can provide three different types of screw retained restoration:
  • Chrome/Gold Conventional cast crown and bridge units
  • Chrome CADCAM milled units
  • Ti-Base units - Titanium interface with a zirconia framework
All these options can be designed to accommodate a 30° angle correction with the use of a special screw and driver. This makes them very useful when implant placement is not perfect but a screw retained option is desired.
